Twelve major U.S. hospital systems have formed a consortium aimed at enhancing diagnostic care through artificial intelligence (AI). The coalition will focus on creating AI-driven workflows that improve case prioritization, accelerate imaging interpretation, and expedite delivery of critical findings, particularly in radiology where the demand for imaging is increasing amid a shortage of skilled professionals. Leaders believe the initiative should focus on integrating AI into broader clinical workflows rather than just initial deployment. Key players include University Hospitals, Advocate Health, Cedars-Sinai, and others, collectively caring for nearly 20 million patients annually. The consortium's partnership with Aidoc aims to provide technical infrastructure to support these efforts, with initial findings expected in 2027.
